Prime Timers (Senior Citizens)

Mission Statement: To enhance the lives of those members who are fifty-five years of age and older through the creation and implementation of programs that aid in the spiritual, cultural, social, economic, and educational development of its participants and others.

The Bible tells us that God calls the young because they are strong, but He calls the old because they know the way! Wisdom is the principle thing that keeps the body of Christ with a clear and focus purpose about God’s vision for His Church. Age is just number when it comes to being an effective and productive servant of God; there is no greater illustration of this than the Prime Timers ministry. They believe in staying involved with every aspect of ministry and do so through charity opportunities, offering help to anyone but specifically to those over 55. They make every effort to help members with health/legal issues which impact their lives daily and with just being an overall blessing to all. FUN! Is another key element that is in the fore-front of this ministry and they take advantage of God’s blessings through ministry outings such as, shopping trips, sight-seeing tours, dinner cruses, and monthly fellowship luncheons. All who are 55 and older are welcome to get involved as soon as possible. They meet every 1st Wednesday of the month at 12 o’clock noon in the Fellowship area of the sanctuary.

Athletics Ministry

Mission Statement: To offer a variety of sport, recreational and exercise opportunities, with an emphasis on Christian conduct, team building, relationship building and witnessing.

People matter to God and in the First Baptist Church Athletics Ministry sports is our vehicle to connect with people. We are also aware that Athletics offers a unique opportunity to reach a watching world for Christ. With that in mind, we ask that our leaders be conscious of their conduct on the playing field. Their attitudes as well as their words are being scrutinized by fellow Christians, competitors, officials, and spectators. A sensitivity to the strengths and weaknesses of all participants is essential to draw others into relationship with us and, eventually, into relationship with Christ. Our goal is to include everyone, regardless of their athletic abilities. In this way, we can put into practice Christ's model of accepting people where they are.

Aerobics

Mission Statement: To assist and to influence as many people as possible, in developing a healthy mind, body, and soul so that we can be as much like Christ as possible.

Let’s get fit! This dynamic ministry consists of male and female participants getting into shape for the sole purpose of being more available for God’s use. Proper exercise and diet is the key to living a healthy lifestyle and we take this very serious at FBC. Deceases are more and more invasive today and we need to take advantage of every edge possible in order to combat them. Maintaining good health should be at the top of our priority list, for without it, we are rendered ineffective ambassadors of the Gospel of Christ. This ministry meets every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in the NBC gym at 6 pm.

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prosperth” (3 John vs. 2).
